Hope Lutheran

The Staff at Hope

Joseph Lindloff - Pastor

I want you to know that as a pastor, I am no different from you. I am a sinner who needs a Savior. I know that there is nothing that I can do as a flawed human being to make myself right before God. Only through the blood of Jesus can I know, for a fact, that I am forgiven and loved by Christ. And I have to say, there is no greater gift or feeling in the entire world, than to know that the God of all power, might, and love calls me his own. Maybe we're different in the fact that I'm a pastor, but we're no different in the fact that we all need the same crucified and risen Savior to redeem us and make us his.

On my journey to becoming a pastor I completed an 8-year program, graduating from  Martin Luther College (New Ulm, MN)in 2012 with a BA. I met my best friend and wife there, Julie, who is Hope's children's ministry director. During my first year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (Mequon, WI), we were married, and will soon be celebrating 5 amazing years of marriage. During my third year of Seminary I interned at Fount of Life Lutheran Church, in Colorado Springs, CO.

In 2016 I graduated from the Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. Upon graduation, I was then called by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (https://wels.net) to serve as the head pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Irmo, SC.  Three weeks after arriving, we were incredibly blessed with the birth of our daughter, Whitney. In August of 2018, we had the life-changing experience of adopting our son, Devin. He has brought us so much joy, and we are so incredibly blessed that he is in our family. The last 4 years have been an incredible journey. The Lord has blessed us, not only as a family but as a church family by filling our church with God-fearing Christians who are no different than I am. We all need to be fed with the true Word of God and receive his forgiveness.

I enjoy most sports, and in my free time I enjoy remodeling our home and spending time in the great outdoors. What I will also tell you, is that Irmo, SC is now our home - truly.  We have been welcomed with open arms, and it's amazing to see that God knows exactly what he's doing. He places all of us exactly where he wants us, and he constantly gives us the opportunity to serve right where he plants us. And in the end, that makes us all no different. We are all blood-bought children of Christ who have the opportunity to serve him no matter who we are or what we do for a living. Yes, I am a pastor, and I have one mission. My mission is to bring you hope - real, lasting, eternal hope.  And that is for all people. Just like you.

andrew pedde - staff minister

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). Growing up, I always wanted to help people. I went through the phases that all kids go through, until, in high school, I decided that I was going to either be a psychologist or a teacher. While teaching a Psychology course in college, I experienced the “aha” moment when someone understood what I was explaining. I knew then that I wanted to be a teacher. To that end, I attended Wisconsin Lutheran College from 2005-2010, graduating with a dual degree in Education and Broad Field Social Studies. Upon graduation, my wife, Rachel Pedde, and I moved to Lexington, SC.

For the last 8 years, I have worked at a virtual high school, serving as a teacher, counselor, and mentor to students throughout South Carolina. I thought I had it all worked out. God would use my skills as a teacher to help educate others, to serve them by being their teacher.

I have been a member of Hope Lutheran Church since 2005, and in that time, I have served as the Youth Discipleship Elder, Teen Sunday School teacher, and in various other capacities. Throughout these experiences, I came to realize that I loved to serve the members and community of Hope. In June of 2018, Hope Lutheran Church extended a call to me to serve as its staff minister. I have accepted that call and will be taking courses for the next 5 years at Martin Luther College in order to receive a certification in staff ministry in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. I look forward to serve the members of Hope, it's community, and most importantly God.

As an individual, I enjoy sports, spending time outdoors, reading, and time with my family. My wife and I have two children, Parker and Payton, whom we love to be with. The Lord has certainly blessed me. He has been with me every step of my journey, leading me on His path, where I can serve Him and His people.

Julie lindloff - children’s ministry coordinator

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service.” 1 Timothy 1:12

From a very young age I have always known that I wanted to work with children. Coming from a very big family with lots of babies and young ones around made me very intrigued and interested in development and education. My excitement and interest grew even more when I attended Luther Preparatory School for high school. I was given several opportunities to experience what working with kids full time would be like. I knew I wanted to teach and went on to attend Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. There I met my husband, Pastor Joe, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I taught in early education for five years before we started our own family. The Lord has blessed us richly in our time here in South Carolina since we moved to Irmo in July of 2016.

We have two children and thank the Lord for giving us our very own miracles to thank Him for daily. Our daughter, Whitney, and our son, Devin, are so incredibly blessed to be a part of a congregation that loves them and cares for them so deeply. It is my absolute joy and privilege to serve here at Hope as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Educating and equipping children for a life of faith and service are my passion and I feel very blessed to do just that in my various responsibilities at Hope. Hope Kids and Vacation Bible School are two areas I especially enjoy leading, as well as the children’s choir for our Sunday School students.  I am continually humbled and amazed at God’s grace and goodness for the ministry of Hope and ask Him for the guidance and strength to continue to serve Him as He sees fit.
